4 Reasons to Install a Flush-Mounted Ceiling Shower

Posted on: 23 October 2019

If you've decided to install a ceiling shower in your new bathroom as part of your bathroom remodel, then you need to choose between a head that fits flush into the ceiling itself or one that uses an arm attachment. While both designs deliver relaxing rainfall showers, you may get more benefits from a flush-mounted model.

What are the advantages?

1. Get an Ultra Streamlined Look

While arm-attached ceiling showers aren't obtrusive and look elegant, you can't beat a flush-mounted shower head when it comes to style. These heads recess into the ceiling itself, leaving your shower area looking clean and minimalist. You won't have any attachments coming down from the ceiling.

2. Get a Longer Shower Drop

Any arm or stand that sits between a showerhead and the ceiling takes up space. It makes the shower sit lower than ceiling level.

However, If you install a flush-mounted head, then you maximise the space you have from the head to the floor. Your shower drop is longer.

If you're installing a rainfall shower, then this enhances the quality of the shower. Rather than hitting your body almost as soon as it runs out of the head, water has a chance to fall a little and spread out before it reaches you. This could give you a truer rainfall feeling.

3. Get a Bigger Shower Head

One of the general advantages of ceiling showers is the size of their heads. They are often bigger than traditional wall-mounted showers. This can make your showers feel more luxurious and relaxing.

If you like the feeling of a larger and looser shower footprint, then you may find that showers that attach to the ceiling by an arm are slightly smaller than you'd like. Here, the arm has to bear the weight of the head so this might restrict its area size.

On the other hand, flush-mounted heads are installed directly into the ceiling. If you have the right support, you might be able to increase the size of the showerhead to get a wider flow.

4. Get a Comfortable Shower for Any Height

Not everyone in your home is the same height. Taller people can find arm-attached ceiling showers a bit limiting. If your head is too close to the shower, then you may feel uncomfortable and cramped.

A flush-mounted model gives you some extra height under the shower. This makes it more comfortable for taller people.

How Remodelling Can Improve Your Kitchen

If you are feeling bored with the interior of your home, maybe it is time to call in a team of remodelling contractors. This is what I did. It all started when I looked at a photograph taken in my kitchen around 20 years ago. I noticed that the kitchen had not changed at all. It was so depressing. The kitchen had always annoyed me because the shelves were not in a good position and there wasn't enough counter space. I knew I needed to do something. I called a local remodelling contractor and asked him to come around. He carried out the work in a few weeks and I am really pleased with the results.
